Margaret Vito | Regional Director, Operations

Margie brings over 30 years of experience across the hospitality industry to HVMG. In her current role, she oversees the operations of half of the HVMG portfolio. Margie has been with HVMG since September 2006 and has worked with Robert Cole for 25 years.

Prior to joining HVMG, Margie was employed by Accor North America where she ran an international property in downtown Chicago for 6 years. With an extensive Food and Beverage background, Margie was employed by Restaurant Associates New York where she trained at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  She then was on the entry team to the Chicago market at the Museum of Science and Industry. Margie was the Corporate Director of Food and Beverage for Lodgian, Inc. She also served as Corporate F&B Trainer and was on the opening team with Impac Hotel Group where she had responsibility for all Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn, “Au bon Pain” concept for Club Hotel by DoubleTree openings, and several other concept developments such as “The Simmering Pot”, “The Atlanta’s Architect Grill”, “The Green Room” and a retro bar concept named “Rain”.

Margie started her hospitality career in Southeastern KY with Winegardner and Hammons. She was with them for 8 years where she was the AGM when Robert Cole and his father bought their second hotel. From 1986-1990 Margie pursued a culinary career with John Q. Hammons where she was appointed “Brightest Rising Star” and received her culinary certification from the State of Arkansas and was promoted to Executive Chef. She returned to work with Robert from 1990-2000. Margie has a proven record of transitioning property operations for successful results in all areas of operations. She has held numerous positions in all aspects of the hotel and restaurant industries including general manager, restaurant manager, bar manager, catering and sales manager, front desk manager and training manager.

Margie attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY where she studied liberal arts. She is a graduate of Dale Carnegie and a certified Executive Chef.
